Today, I want to share something with you

Something that will save you a lot of time.

But I ask for one thing in return.

Use this new time for something valuable.

Maybe read a book.

Maybe sit outside and get some sunlight.

Maybe go to that new restaurant you’ve been wanting to try.

Maybe do that one hobby you love but haven’t had time for lately.

Whatever it is, just do something useful.

Here’s the thing.

Like a dry sub without water to wash it down

Stop trying to rationalize irrational behavior.

Period.

Let me explain.

I keep seeing people trying to make sense of an irrational situation.

Trying to understand why someone did X

When the obvious correct action was Y.

When X seemed like the most incoherent choice possible.

Yet that person still acted that way.

For example.

Why does someone struggling financially

Still decide to go out for an expensive dinner they can barely afford?

I bet you know people like that.

And I bet, you get frustrated analyzing their behavior.

Unfortunately, I have bad news for you, my friend.

The illogical one is you.

Not them.

Because you’re the one trying to apply logic where there is none.

Trying to make sense of something irrational.

And that, my friend.

Is a complete waste of time.

And the most precious thing you have in this life is time.

So, protect it.

Perhaps the biggest mistake in economics

Is the assumption that people always act rationally.

When humans aren’t always rational.

Accepting this will bring peace to your life.

And a lot more time.

Before you go.

You know, to start thinking about what you’ll do with the extra time you just gained.

Remember this.

People don’t struggle with money because they’re bad at math.

People don’t struggle with money because they’re not smart enough.

Almost always.

Money problems are caused by emotional problems.

We know what we should do.

But we can’t get ourselves to do it.

An emotional problem disguised as a money problem.

Lastly.

Here is a phrase I like.

"When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
